For the month of July coinciding with the 110th edition of the Tour de France, we look at France.
We will be joining more than 15 million spectators and over 1 billion television viewers in watching the scenes and scenery of France this July.

The race takes place over a three-week period in July and covers a distance of around 3,500 kilometers (2,200 miles).
First organized in 1903, the Tour de France was created by Henri Desgrange, a French newspaper journalist, to boost the sales of his newspaper, L'Auto. Over the years, it has grown in popularity and has become an internationally renowned sporting event, attracting millions of spectators along the route and millions more watching on television.

Did you know that the minimum weight limit is 6.8kg (15 pounds) for the bicycles taking part in the race and that each of the 22 teams / 176 riders’ bicycles is inspected before the race each day?
Conformity through regulations and inspections provides a level playing field to sports and especially sports that could have mechanical advantages.
